Hiring guide

What belongs in a nearshore hiring brief?

A useful nearshore brief defines the work, working-hour overlap, communication requirements, compensation parameters, and employment arrangement before sourcing begins.

ALIVIO WEBSITE GUIDE · PUBLISHED SEPTEMBER 21, 2026

Make collaboration requirements explicit. This guide explains our approach to scoping a search; it does not report client results or market-wide benchmarks.

Define the actual working hours

Specify the hours when collaboration is required, the team’s time zone, and whether that overlap changes with daylight saving time. Separate truly synchronous responsibilities from work that can happen asynchronously.

Describe communication through work tasks

State which tasks require written or spoken communication and how you will assess them. A work sample, such as a customer response or handoff note, can make expectations more concrete than a vague fluency label.

Agree on equipment and access

List required devices, connectivity, software, and security onboarding. Identify who provides equipment and approves access. Confirm these responsibilities before a start date is agreed.

Confirm the engagement structure

Recruiting, employment, payroll, and legal advice are different responsibilities. Identify which organization will employ or contract with the person and which qualified advisers will review local requirements. Alivio’s recruiting scope must be confirmed separately in writing.
