About the role

Alivio Search Partners is recruiting a hands-on Staff Product Engineer for a confidential technology company. Help turn early product ideas into reliable software, with substantial ownership of architecture, implementation, and the customer experience. Work with technical leadership to define problems, build new capabilities, and improve products after launch. The position combines full-stack development with practical use of AI and coding agents. This is an individual contributor opportunity with technical influence and mentoring responsibilities. The team works in New York City five days per week. Candidates must be able to commute or relocate; relocation assistance is not offered. Compensation includes an annual base of $280,000 to $380,000 plus equity, depending on experience and fit. Existing visa transfers may be considered, but new visa sponsorship is unavailable. Apply with your current resume and LinkedIn profile. What you’ll do

  • Guide new products from problem definition and design through launch and production support.
  • Build user-facing features and supporting services with TypeScript and React.
  • Choose architectures that balance user needs, development speed, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Translate product goals into practical engineering plans with technical leadership.
  • Mentor experienced engineers through technical discussions and code review.
  • Use AI and coding agents to improve software development and delivery.

What you’ll bring

  • At least 7 years of relevant full-stack or product engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ownership of new product launches in a startup or growing technology company.
  • Strong recent TypeScript and React experience, with backend and systems design depth.
  • Experience shaping technical direction while remaining an active individual contributor.
  • Applied AI experience or substantive use of coding agents in engineering workflows.
  • Sound product judgment and clear communication with technical and nontechnical colleagues.
  • Ability to work in the New York City office five days per week.
  • Experience building products for developers is a plus.
