About the role

Alivio Search Partners is recruiting backend systems engineers for a confidential, venture-backed crypto trading startup with offices in New York City and San Francisco. You will build real-time, high-throughput, low-latency backend services in Rust. This is a small, fast-moving, high-bandwidth team that values production Rust experience, asynchronous systems, and a genuine interest in trading and financial markets. Personal projects, especially in Rust or C, are reviewed and valued. The team works on-site five days per week from the NYC or San Francisco office. Compensation includes an annual base of $185,000 to $300,000 plus equity, depending on experience. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or Green Card holders; sponsorship is not available. What you’ll do

  • Build and own backend services for real-time, high-throughput trading systems in Rust.
  • Develop asynchronous services (Tokio or comparable) with low-latency requirements.
  • Work across relational, time-series, and key-value data stores.
  • Ship quickly in a small startup team with high ownership.

What you’ll bring

  • 2 to 4 years of backend software engineering experience.
  • Meaningful, hands-on production Rust experience.
  • Asynchronous programming experience (Tokio or comparable).
  • Experience with real-time, high-throughput, low-latency, or trading systems.
  • Experience with multiple database types.
  • Startup experience (venture-backed preferred) and experience in fintech, crypto, trading, HFT, or blockchain.
  • Genuine interest in trading or financial markets; meaningful personal projects (Rust or C preferred).
  • U.S. citizen or Green Card holder; based in or willing to relocate to NYC or San Francisco.
